The time to perform spinal or general anaesthesia in COVID-19 positive parturients requiring emergency caesarean delivery: a prospective crossover simulation study

چکیده

Background: Spinal anaesthesia is the commonest performed technique for caesarean deliveries except in emergency setting where general preferred due to its rapid onset and predictability. There are several modifications performing COVID-19 patients Australia. We hypothesised that performance time of these techniques amongst specialist anaesthetists would be similar parturients undergoing delivery. Methods: designed a simulation cross-over study. The primary outcome was taken perform or spinal this setting. also examined decision-making process time, decision incision level stress associated with both scenarios. Results: Nine participated research. no difference (mean (GA–SA scenario) –1.2 (–5.3–2.8) minutes, p = 0.5). Irrespective group allocation mean complete scenario 27.4 (standard deviation 7.8) while 24.0 (7.2) minutes. between times –3.5 95th percent confidence interval –9.7–2.8 0.24). evidence carryover effect two scenarios based on (p 0.69) significant levels 0.44). Conclusions: confirmed parturient environment.

Single Shot Spinal Anaesthesia for Caesarean Delivery of Two Achondroplasic Parturients.

Because of structural defects in achondroplasia, as one of the dwarfism types, the choice of an anaesthetic technique and management for caesarean delivery presents a challenge. We aimed to discuss our successful single-shot spinal anaesthesia approach for caesarean section for one urgent and one elective achondroplasic parturient based on the literature.

Comparison of Neonatal Apgar Score & Umbilical Artery Blood Gas Parameters Among parturients Undergoing Elective Caesarean Section Under Spinal, Epidural & General Anaesthesia: A Prospective Randomized Observational Study

Lower segment caesarean section (LSCS) is a life-saving procedure for the parturient and her baby. The frequency of caesarean section continues to rise steadily worldwide [1]. Today, caesarean delivery accounts for more than 30% of all births [2]. In India the incidence of LSCS is increased from 3% to10% between 1992-93 and 2005-06 [3]. Anaesthesia to a parturient affects both mother and fetus,...

Spinal anaesthesia for emergency Caesarean section in an achondroplastic patient.

modifications are widely accepted, used and even published in the journals [2]. The modification of the ProSeal LMA by connecting an endotracheal tube connector to the drain tube has been reported recently, when the lightwand was used in conjuction, to facilitate the insertion of the ProSeal LMA, as the endotracheal tube connector seats perfectly in the connector lock at the hilt of the lightwa...

Post-traumatic stress disorder in parturients delivering by caesarean section and the implication of anaesthesia: a prospective cohort study

BACKGROUND Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) occurs in 1-7% of women following childbirth. While having a caesarean section (C-section) is known to be a significant risk factor for postpartum PTSD, it is currently unknown whether coexisting anaesthesia-related factors are also associated to the disorder. The aim of this study was to assess anaesthesia-linked factors in the development of ac...

Effective Factors in the Survival Time of Covid-19 Patients in Three Epidemic Waves: A Prospective Cohort Study

Background and Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effective factors in the survival/hazard time of Covid-19 patients in three waves of epidemic.   Methods: All 880 Covid-19 patients were included in this prospective cohort study using the census method. Polymerase chain reaction was used to diagnose Covid-19. The survival status of these patients was followed up for 4 months. The...
